Jamaican takes top job at Digicel
Digicel has announced Jamaican Justin Morin as the new chief executive officer for its Jamaica operations.
A news release from the company said Morin brings “over 17 years’ experience and a solid track record spanning multiple industries including telecommunications, finance, fast-moving consumer goods, and manufacturing”.
Morin has been working abroad for the past eight years, with his most recent job being director of corporate strategy with Saudi Telecom in the Middle East where he spearheaded the successful development and execution of the company’s strategic growth plan with a focus on maximising opportunities in the converged technology and digital space.
The St George’s College old boy also spent seven years at GraceKennedy working in several roles in investment, manufacturing and operations before joining global consultancy firm Delta Partners, where he served as a senior principal.
“It’s an exciting time for Digicel and our customers and I’m thrilled to be joining this dynamic brand at a time when we’re transforming for the future,” the release quoted Morin. “I’m looking forward to working with an already fantastic team to deliver a superior network, compelling content and amazing experiences to our customers. My wife and I are also very excited to be returning home to Jamaica and raising our twin daughters right here where we both grew up.”
Digicel Jamaica board members Harry Smith and Tony Chang were happy to welcome Morin to the team, saying; “This is a real game-changer for the Jamaican market and we look forward to working with Justin.”
