PNP announces new shadow cabinet
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Opposition Leader Dr Peter Phillips this morning unveiled a new 27-member shadow cabinet at a press conference held at the People’s National Party (PNP) headquarters in Kingston.
Phillips revealed that former security minister Peter Bunting has been shifted from the controversial portfolio to Industry, Investment and Competitiveness. He has been replaced by Fitz Jackson, who was appointed Opposition Spokesman on National Security.
The outspoken Damion Crawford will take on the Youth and Culture portfolio while the former minister Lisa Hanna will assume responsibility for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
Meanwhile, Anthony Hylton, Natalie Neita and Sophia Fraser-Binns will work from within the Office of the Leader of the Opposition.
The Opposition said it remains committed to a path of positive change, focused on significant and far-reaching national impact.
