BOG WALK, St Catherine — Former champions Dinthill Technical raced to their sixth successive win in the ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup schoolboy football competition after a 3-1 win over second-placed Bog Walk High in their rescheduled Zone K first-round game played at the Bybrook Sports Complex yesterday.

Both teams finished with 10 players as one player from each team, including Dinthill Technical’s goalkeeper Demero Hill, was sent off in the second half.

Dinthill Technical join Manchester High and Seaforth High as schools that have won their first six games. Glenmuir High and St Mary Technical have won their first five, while Clarendon College have won their first four.

Ocho Rios High, however, had their four-game winning start snapped when they were held 0-0 by last-placed York Castle High in their Zone I return-round game at Drax Hall.

This was York Castle’s first point of the competition, after they had been beaten 2-0 in the first round by Ocho Rios High, who still lead the zone with 13 points and have yet to concede a goal.

At Bybrook, Shamari Davis scored his third-straight brace and Kaheem Parris got his 10th goal of the season as Dinthill Technical continued to run roughshod over the rest of Zone K.

They now lead Bog Walk by seven points (18 to 11) with four games to go before the start of the second round.

Meanwhile, Herbert Morrison Technical and Ben Francis KO champions Lennon High both followed up big wins on Saturday with wins yesterday as they moved up in their respective zones.

Richard Thompson scored a second-half hat-trick to lead Herbert Morrison to a 3-0 win over winless Muschett High 3-0 in their Zone C game.

After a listless first half, Herbert Morrison came alive as Thompson took his tally of goals to seven. They are now in third place, tied on seven points with William Knibb Memorial, trailing leaders Spot Valley High (13 points) and Cedric Titus on nine points.

Dino Bryan and Leonardo Gibbison scored one each for Lennon High as they beat Edwin Allen High 2-0 to move past them into second place in Zone H.

This was Edwin Allen’s second-straight loss after they started the season with back-to-back wins.

Cross Keys High and Knox College both scored their first wins in their rescheduled first-round games.

Nicoli Gayle, Rajay White and Shavaughn Elliot were the scorers as well as an own goal for Knox as they beat newcomers Troy High 4-1 in Zone G, while Cross Keys edged DeCarteret College 3-2 in Zone F.
