Majority of cases in St James Circuit Court are murders, lottery scamming
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Murders and lottery scamming make up the majority of the 186 cases on the books for the first half of the eight-week term of the St James Circuit Court.
A total of 231 cases are to be heard by the court during the period. Of the 186 cases scheduled for the first four weeks, there are some 60 murders, 77 lottery scamming matters, two human trafficking matters, 35 rape cases and 20 carnal abuse cases to be heard.
The disclosure was made by Assistant Director of Public Prosecution, Adley Duncan and Supreme Court Judge, Justice Glen Brown.
Both men were addressing today’s opening of the St James Circuit Court.
