Phillips the most capable man for the job — Simpson Miller
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Former People’s National Party (PNP) president and prime minister of Jamaica, Portia Simpson Miller, again expressed support for Peter Phillips in her speech at the party’s 79th annual conference.
The former party leader’s speech reviewed the achievements of the PNP’s last stint in Government, and hailed Phillips as ‘Mr Fix-It’.
Simpson Miller also welcomed candidate for the upcoming by-election in the St Mary South Eastern constituency, Dr Shane Alexis, telling him that she would be available to give support whenever he needed it.
Simpson Miller reiterated her view of current party president Peter Phillips as the most capable man for the job and commended him for his listening tour, which carried him across the island, saying it would augur well for his leadership.
Following fellow past president PJ Patterson who similarly heaped praises on Phillips, Simpson Miller expressed her confidence that Phillips would become the next prime minister of Jamaica.
