NEWCOMER Azkella is soaking up the spotlight with her sizzling debut single Ease The Stress .

Produced by Camar Flava, Ease The Stress was released August 4 on the Block 17 Productions label. An accompanying video was also released on the same day.

“The response has been awesome so far. I have gotten so many positive comments about the song and the video, I am just so happy at this moment. I know that there is a far way to go, but I am willing to put in the hard work to become a household name,” said the 28-year-old.

The video was directed and conceptualised by AJG Logan. It was shot on location in Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth.

She is currently working on her yet-to-be-titled, forthcoming EP earmarked to be released later this year.

“We have some very good songs on this EP that I am very proud of. It’s a diversity of styles which incorporates the different genres of music with the significant sound being dancehall,” said Azkella.

Azkella (given name Cathene Wishardt) hails from Manchester. She attended Bishop Gibson High and Northern Caribbean University. However, she always had a passion for music.

“Music has just always been part of me growing up. A good friend of mine heard a track I did and decided to put me on to the necessary people to help kick-start my musical career,” she told Jamaica Observer.
