Ocho Rios escapee killed, firearm recovered
ST ANN, Jamaica — One of five men who escaped from the Ocho Rios police lock-up in St Ann on Friday, August 11 was shot dead this morning during a confrontation with the police in Pineapple, Ocho Rios.
He is 22-year-old Nicholas Massop, who was wanted for murder, shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm.
The police report that a Browning 9mm pistol along with six 9mm rounds was seized.
Three other prisoners who also escaped on August 11 have since been recaptured by the police. They are 61-year-old Leroy Laud, 29-year-old David Anderson and 48-year-old Gary Ferguson.
Twenty-six-year-old Renardo Williams of Top Milford, Ocho Rios remains on the run. He is wanted for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
