Threats against FLA executives being investigated
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of National Security says, following an increased threat level yesterday, security measures have been ramped up to protect the life of former Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA) Board Chairman, Dennis Wright; CEO, Shane Dalling; and former acting CEO, Lincoln Allen.
A release from the ministry today said that the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has received the reports and is currently investigating.
It added that Wright was advised about the threat level and was invited to the ministry where he was removed to a secure location as a means of providing additional safety measures and he has since engaged private security to protect his life.
“The threat against the life of Dennis Wright is specific and targeted. It is alleged that the Dennis Wright led board compiled the list of over 200 persons of questionable character now being investigated,” the ministry stated, adding that security around Shane Dalling and Lincoln Allen has also been increased.
The ministry condemned the threats and thanked the JCF for what it described as a professional handling of the matter and assured the relatives, friends and close family that the targeted individuals will be protected.
“We urge anyone with information to say something as we work together to create a safer Jamaica,” the ministry said.
