Music mess
Dear Editor,
Are we making any progress in relation to the many complains we have made about lewd music in Jamaica?
Are members of the Government and the Opposition standing with us in this matter?
In days gone by Jamaica was blessed with two powerful radio stations, but now we are very fortunate to have many more radio stations. But, in my opinion, many of these radio stations are not playing songs that can elevate our people and our children. Most of the time, when I am in public places, I only hear lyrics that are violent, crass, and only bring more misery and pain to our country.
And a problem now is that even the government-owned Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) buses sometimes manage to play some of the worse kinds of music. Can you imagine? I call upon the management of JUTC to speak with the drivers who are playing garbage on these buses.
The music industry in Jamaica needs cleaning up.
