2 arrested in $5.2m ganja bust
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Two men were yesterday arrested following the seizure of approximately 1300 pounds of ganja and large quantities of petrol during a special anti-narcotics operation at Forte Charles in Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth.
According to police reports, a search of the area was done between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm, and 33 knitted bags with ganja weighing approximately 1,300 pounds, 18 gallons of petrol in containers buried in the sand, clothing, GPS equipment, and a compass were found
The estimated street value of the ganja is $5.2 million.
The police said the identities of the men taken into custody are being withheld pending further investigation.
