Ashley-Ann Foster quits PNP
KINGSTON, Jamaica — People’s National Party (PNP) caretaker for Central St James, Ashley-Ann Foster, has resigned from the party.
In a letter to PNP President, Dr Peter Phillips, Foster cited that she was recently retained as a presenter for an evening news segment, which has led to her decision to withdraw from the party.
Foster, who is also an attorney-at-law, said that the programme will at times require political and current affairs commentary and juxtaposed objectivity and accountability with justice, which “must not only be done but seen to be done”.
“I have taken what I consider to be an ethical decision in the pursuit of transparency and fair play,” Foster further explained.
At the end of the letter, Foster expressed gratitude to the party for her education and the enlightenment she gained since becoming involved in February 2013, and wished the PNP the best in future endeavours.
