Harvey degenerates; expect isolated showers
ONCE a tropical storm, Harvey degenerated into a tropical wave yesterday, remnants of which continued to move westward and away from Jamaica last night.
The forecast is for the island to experience some lingering showers, thereafter becoming partly cloudy, the National Metereological Centre reported.
Today, isolated showers are expected over mainly eastern parishes during the morning and also over central and western parishes during the afternoon.
Marine interests, especially small craft operators, are still advised to exercise caution in areas of showers and thunderstorms over offshore areas south of Jamaica.
Meanwhile, Harvey swept across Barbados over the weekend, leaving minor wind damage and extensive but short-lived flooding.
