Police capture St James man wanted in US for lottery scamming
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A 28-year-old man from Greenwood, St James, who was wanted in the United States of America for over 60 counts of mail fraud among other offences, was arrested on a warrant of extradition in Deeside, Trelawny yesterday.
The police are withholding the man’s identity.
However, according to their reports, he was nabbed by a team comprised of members of the Lottery Scam Task Force, the Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Area One Operational Support Team in a near 10-hour long operation that began about 2:30 pm.
The police said that arrangements are now being made for the accused to be taken before the court and that more information will follow.
