#London2017: No Elaine Thompson for women’s 4x100m final
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Olympic medallist Elaine Thompson will not be a part of Jamaica’s team for the women’s 4x100m final this afternoon at the IAAF World Championships in London.
Jura Levy has been set to run the first leg, while Natasha Morrison and Simone Facey will run the second and third leg respectively. Shashalee Forbes will anchor the team.
This morning’s team of Christania Williams, Morrison, Levy and Forbes clocked 42.50 seconds to finish behind Germany in heat two.
The anticipated addition of Thompson on the anchor leg was expected to strengthen the team’s chance of claiming gold in the event.
