Autarchii looks to Land of the Free
NEWCOMER Autarchii has released his debut album Land of the Free . The 10-track set was released June 30 by Indie Roots Records. It is distributed by VPAL Music.
Originally from Portmore in St Catherine, Autarchii is now based in Brooklyn, New York. Born Jermaine Joseph, he is son of veteran recording artiste Donovan Joseph, who is a cousin of reggae singer Dennis Brown.
Among the producers who worked on Land of the Free are Donovan Joseph, Bobby Pottinger, Jermaine “Chargie” Campbell, Shawn “Island” Francis, Lion Riddims, and Di Future.
In addition to the title track, the set includes Keep Your Joy, Ghetto Life, Black Woman and Leaders Lie.
“I intend to make a positive impact on the world with my music. I want to become a household name in reggae. That’s why I only record uplifting roots reggae music,” said Autarchii.
“Since the album came out I’ve been getting great feedback about it from music industry insiders and my supporters. I’m confident that with consistent promotion it will do well,” he continued.
The 23-year-old singjay launched his career with Grow, released on the Joseph Sounds imprint in 2015.
Autarchii is booked to perform at the Montreal Reggae Festival in Canada on August 16.
“I am beyond elated about performing at Montreal Reggae Fest. I grew up listening to Inner Circle and Sanchez, so to actually be on the same line-up as those veterans is more than a pleasure,” he said.
