#London2017:Jamaica’s Goule, McDonald out of women’s 800m
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Natoya Goule and Kimarra Mcdonald, the two Jamaicans who were competing in the women’s 800m at the IAAF World Championships in London, failed to advance from the heats this afternoon.
Both women finished outside the top three and their times were not fast enough to secure one of the non-automatic qualifiers spot.
Goule was fifth in heat three in 2:01.77, giving way to 1500m bronze medallist Caster Semanya, who won that heat in 2:01.33. Semanya also holds the World leading time for 2017 with 1:55.27.
Meanwhile, McDonald finished seventh in the fifth heat, which was won by US Charlene Lipsey in 2:02.740.
