#London2017: Jamaican trio misses out in women’s 200m
KINGSTON, Jamaica —The Jamaican trio — Shashalee Forbes, Simone Facey and Jodean Williams – were eliminated from the women’s 200 metres at the 2017 London World Championship today.
Forbes finished fourth in race one in a time of 23.09 seconds giving way to defending champion Netherland’s Dafne Schippers who won going away in 22.49.
Facey, who finished fourth in heat two, missed a chance at a qualifying spot by just one hundredth of a second, with her time of 23.01 after failing to out-dip the Swiss Mujinga Kambundji ‘s time of 23.00.
Meanwhile, Williams finished seventh with a time of 23.32 in heat three, which was won by Marie – Josee Ta Lou of Cote D’lvoire in 22.50s.
The final is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at 3:50pm Jamaica time.
