Congratulations to organisers of Denbigh 2017
Dear Editor,
This is an open letter to Norman Grant, president of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, his team, and the team from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, as well as all others who were involved in the execution of Denbigh 2017.
It was with tremendous pride that I walked around the showgrounds at Denbigh this year. As I passed through the various booths of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries I noticed a vast improvement in the way the team members engaged me, and they seemed anxious to offer their expertise. It was truly refreshing.
The parish pavilions were also very impressive. The level of organisation, cleanliness and attention to detail really demonstrated that people cared about what they were doing.
I finally walked through the animal pens and observed a part of the cattle judging process. The improvement in the quality of animals, across the board, this year was noticeable, and choosing winners proved very difficult.
The general management of the grounds and the overall setting showed a marked improvement over last year.
Congratulations! You all did a great job that did not go unnoticed.
It was very apparent that the pride in farming and the desire to be outstanding farmers are returning to Jamaica.
