#London2017: World Champs schedule — Tuesday, August 8
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Following Omar McLeod’s brilliant performance to capture the 100m Hurdles gold, 10 Jamaicans will compete today, day 5, of the 2017 IAAF World Championships under way in London, England.
Jamaican’s will watch Nathon Allen and Demish Gaye in the 400 metres with the hope that, like McLeod, they will be able to nab more medals for the country.
Allen, who will be in lane 5 and Gaye, in lane 8, will vie in a world class field headed by Olympic gold medallist and world record holder Wayde Van Niekerk.
Meanwhile, the first event featuring a Jamaican will be the women’s 200m heats where Jodean Williams, Sashalee Forbes and Simone Facey will line up in heats one, three and four respectively.
The trio of Ristananna Tracey, Leah Nugent and Rhonda Whyte will try to advance from the semi-final round of the women’s 400m hurdles to the final slated for Thursday afternoon.
