200m record in Beijing 2008, best performance ever, Bolt says
LONDON, Great Britain — The world’s greatest sprinter Usain Bolt says that his 200 metre world record run in 2008 is his best performance ever.
Bolt’s revelation came at the Puma press conference at The Brewery in London, ahead of the 2017 World Championships.
“Beijing 2008, the 200 metre, because I didn’t know I could have broken the 200 metre [record]. That was my dream,” Bolt told over 200 journalists when asked about his best performance.
Bolt, the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay world record holder, said after his retirement he wants headlines to read: “Usain Bolt unbeatable. Unstoppable.”
Bolt also watched tributes from close friend, sprinter Asafa Powell, who said that Bolt was the second best Jamaican athlete; actor Samuel L Jackson, whose video speech included profanities, as well as French football legend Thierry Henry.
