Popular MoBay businessman murdered, gun stolen
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Members of the Montego Bay Criminal Investigative Branch are working assiduously to find clues in solving the murder of a popular Montego Bay businessman who was shot dead outside his business establishment yesterday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Winston Chue of a Montego Bay address.
Reports are that minutes past 2:00 pm, shortly after Chue alighted from his motorcar outside his business establishment along Marian Way in Montego Bay, St James, he was pounced upon and shot five times by unknown gunmen.
Chue was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said the businessman’s licensed firearm was missing and they believe that the gun was stolen by the killers.
Family members of the slain businessman were too overwhelmed with grief to comment.
However, people who massed at the murder scene condemned the killing, which pushed the murder tally in the parish to 157 since the start of the year, in comparison to the 140 recorded for the similar period last year.
