INDECOM starts probe into Santa Cruz shooting
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) says they have started a probe into yesterday’s double fatal shooting in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth.
Dead are former Jamaica Labour Party caretaker for the Siloah Division Warrenton Barham and 24-year-old Latoya Williamson.
It is reported that the 24-year-old turned up at the Tabletop Restaurant, the business place operated by Barham and his wife in a Santa Cruz shopping plaza.
During a confrontation Barham pulled his firearm and shot Williamson several times.
People on the scene told OBSERVER ONLINE that a policeman, who was in the vicinity, ordered the businessman to drop his weapon but he did not comply and was shot.
Williamson was a graduate of the Bethlehem Moravian College in St Elizabeth and worked at a hotel in Westmoreland.
