PORT ANTONIO, Portland — Roshantia Bramwell, now a second form student at Titchfield High School and a former top GSAT student at Boundbrook Primary in the parish who was the recipient of a scholarship from the Jamaica Constabulary Force in 2015, has decided to give back to her primary school.

Bramwell recently donated a trophy and replica for the top Boundbrook Primary GSAT student.

“When I was a student at Boundbrook Primary, I got a scholarship because I was the top GSAT student, so I decided that I would give back to the top student for the five years I will be at Titchfield.

“I got an average of 98.8 per cent with four 100s. I got a scholarship and I decided to give back some of the money by donating a trophy for the school to keep and a replica for the student to keep because Boundbrook Primary did so much for me. It must go to the highest overall student. Their names will be engraved and the year they got the award,” Bramwell said, while indicating that one of the conditions of her scholarship is that she must maintain high grades to continue.

At present Bramwell averages over 90 per cent in her subjects.

The young Titchfield lass told the Observer that she wants to make a difference in the future in an attempt to make Jamaica grow and prosper.

“Yes, I want to make a difference in Jamaica and go into an area of science. I want to do something that Jamaica doesn’t have much of, and my plan is to go overseas study and come back as I’m looking at become a forensic scientist,” she said with a huge smile on her face.

Danice Buckley, who got the award for being the top GSAT student this year at Boundbrook, was very pleased.

“I feel happy getting so many awards and looking forward to going to Titchfield and doing well. I’m not disappointed, I was expecting it and I’m very grateful. My average was 95.4 per cent and I want to become an entrepreneur. I was in 4H, Brownies, and I was in the Red Cross, but I had to drop it to concentrate on the 4H as they had meetings on the same evening,” she said.
