THE recent inaugural staging of Chromatic Live, led by Appleton Special, transformed Mas Camp into an entertainment mecca for patrons who came out for a superb high-energy music package. Commencing at 10:00 pm, the five-member sound system demonstrated why they have enjoyed a strong, consistent following and defended their position as one of the leading sounds on the Jamaican party scene.

Warren “Creep” Lee, a founding member of Chromatic, spoke of the event: “The Chromatic team felt that it was time for us to showcase ourselves to fans in a unique way, instead of just keeping a party that would be considered an ‘anniversary’. We decided to deliver a concert vibe.”

Joining Chromatic were other disc jocks, including Illusion Sound System and ZJ Chrome.

Delivering a performance that found favour with the crowd was Jamaican rapper Baker Steez. He was shortly joined on stage by Nicholas ‘Niko’ Grant, a founding member of Chromatic, who was welcomed with cheers from the audience.

Members of the entertainment fraternity came out in support of Chromatic Live and delivered surprise performances. Ding Dong took to the stage with his new single Fling Yuh Shoulda and was followed by Konshens who performed Bruk off Yuh Back.

Popcaan then took to the stage for a highly anticipated feature performance, but the surprises did not end there. He was joined by Tommy Lee Sparta.

Tamika West, marketing manager at J Wray & Nephew Ltd, spoke to the brand’s support of the event.

“Chromatic Sound served as our brand ambassadors last year, and just like Appleton Special, they are the ultimate party starters. Chromatic Live was a perfect fit for us,” said West.

“Chromatic Live was the first concert-type event to truly kick off the summer, and we are glad for the role Appleton Special played in bringing it to life. Kudos to the Chromatic Live team and the other performers on a job well done.”
