Gunmen murder St James man, another found with throat slashed
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Police in St James were yesterday busy piecing together clues in solving the murder of two people in separate instances.
Lawmen were first summoned to Coke Avenue in Brandon Hill, where residents reportedly stumbled on the body of an unidentified man about 5:00 am. His throat had been slashed.
According to the officers, the body is of slim build, dark complexion and 175 centimetres (5 feet 9 inches) long. It was clad in a white t-shirt and grey shorts and a pair of brown slippers. The man is estimated to be in his 30’s.
Then, a mere 15 minutes after that body was discovered, gunmen allegedly kicked in the door of a man’s home in Birch Hill district and opened fire at him and his female companion.
The man, identified as 24-year-old Nicholas Smith, otherwise called ‘Junior’, was shot several times and died.
However, the police said the woman, who was shot once, survived and is being treated at hospital The police said their investigations are ongoing.
