KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Education on Thursday reported an improved performance in the 2017 sitting of the Grade Six Achievement Test in four out of five subject areas, and for the first time in five years boys outperformed girls in Language Arts.
The results were released to schools on Friday.
In other news, Information minister, Ruel Reid, told the press on Wednesday that Cabinet has approved a write-off of $106.23 billion for debts/receivables from Government’s intervention into the 1990s economic meltdown.
And, a 17-year-old third form student at the Porus High School in Manchester was reportedly stabbed to death during a fight with another student at the institution on Thursday.
