#RacersGrandPrix: Bolt runs moderate 10.03s to win 100m in J’can swan-song
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Just like it started in 2002, Usain Bolt’s exploits on local soil has now come to a fitting end.
The triple world and Olympic champion a short while ago brought the curtains down on the Jamaican leg of his decorated career with a comfortable victory in the JN sponsored “Salute to a legend” men’s 100m at the second JN Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium.
Bolt, an eight-time Olympic champion and 11-time World champion clocked a moderate 10.03 seconds to win.
The massive crowd went into frenzy as the clocked briefly stopped at 9.65 seconds, before being adjusted to the correct time.
Bolt won ahead of compatriots Jhevaughn Minzie (10.14) and Nikel Ashmeade (10.18).
The 30-year-old, world’s fastest man will officially hang up his spikes after the IAAF World Championships in London set for August 4-13.
