#RacersGrandPrix: America’s Little, Downing win 400mH
KINGSTON, Jamaica — American Shamier Little a short while ago topped the women’s 400m hurdles at the second staging of the JN Racers Grand Prix currently ongoing at the National Stadium.
Little, the 2015 World Championships silver medallist and world number two athlete in the event, produced a strong performance from lane three to win in 54.21 seconds ahead of compatriot and Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammed (54.59) and Jamaica’s Ristananna Tracey (54.61).
Meanwhile, fellow American Quincy Downing exploded up the straight to win the men’s 400m hurdles.
Downing, came storming in lane three to register a new personal best of 48.13 seconds, bettering his previous time of 48.80. He was also just outside the meet record of 48.10 seconds set last year by American Johnny Dutch.
Jamaica’s Jaheel Hyde was second in 48.82 seconds, just outside his personal best of 48.81, while Dutch was third in a flat 49.00.
