Flood damage upwards of $2.2b – NWA
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The cost to reopen roadways and clear drains across the island following three periods of heavy rains over the past two months, have been preliminarily put at $2.2 billion.
The figures were revealed by the National Works Agency (NWA) a short while ago at a meeting of the Infrastructure and Physical Development committee of Parliament.Senior Director, Project Implementation and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the NWA, Earl Patterson stressed that these are very early figures, and does not include the cost of repairing the damage to the road network.Alphea Saunders
