Logos Hope book ship closed as Cement Company unrest continues
KINGSTON, Jamaica — As a result of industrial action at the Caribbean Cement Company (CCC), operators of Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair, say they will remain closed until further notice.
Logos Hope is docked at the CCC Rockfort pier in east Kingston. In a statement Friday afternoon Logos Hope said that they are “grateful for the warm welcome received in Kingston and hope the situation at CCC will be resolved soon to the satisfaction of all concerned, so that they can reopen to the public”.The book ship arrived in Kingston on May 12 and is scheduled to remain at the CCC pier until June 11.
