JPS reports power outages in seven parishes
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) is this afternoon reporting power outages in several areas of different parishes after heavy rains this morning.
The JPS said weather conditions currently affecting Jamaica have caused damage to sections of the island’s power delivery system, resulting in outages to customers.The power company said it has deployed its technical teams, which are now working to restore service to sections of Kingston, St Andrew, St Catherine, St Mary, St Ann, St James, and Clarendon.The communities affected by the outages include:
KINGSTON & ST ANDREW: Lawrence Tavern, Belmont, Florence Hill, Cassava River, Waterloo Avenue, Plantation Heights, Roberts Field, Mount Charles, Seamore Lands, Johnson Town, Nannywille, Vineyard Town and Drewsland.ST MARY: Moneague, Dillon Town, Highgate, Port Maria, Cypress District, Cascade
HANOVER: Esher, Dias
ST ANN: Cascade, Wild Cane District, Iron Gate
ST JAMES: John’s Hall, Spring Mount, Tangle River
CLARENDON: Hayes Square, Denbigh Drive, Frankfield
ST CATHERINE: Sections of Portmore, Old Harbour, Sandy Ground, Golden Acres
