Montague commits to new hearse for fallen cops
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Minister of National Security Robert Montague has committed to providing a new hearse to transport deceased police officers.
Montague was responding to Chairman of the Jamaica Police Federation (JPF) Sergeant Raymond Wilson, who described the present hearse as a “mosquito destroyer” because of the heavy emissions from the vehicle.Noting that the current hearse was not only embarrassing but disgraceful, Sergeant Wilson argued that departed police officers should travel in style to their final resting place. Both men were speaking on the opening day of the two-day 74th Annual Joint Central Conference of the JPF underway at the Iberostar Hotel and Resorts. The conference is being held under the theme: “Preserving the Institution; Serving the Protector”.Horace Hines
