ACP Budhoo will be deeply missed — Montague
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Minister of National Security, Robert Montague has expressed his condolences to the immediate family and colleagues of Assistant Commissioner of Police Winchroy Budhoo, noting that he will be deeply missed.
“I offer my deepest condolences to the immediate family, colleagues, and friends who died suddenly today at the May Pen Hospital after falling ill. My thoughts and prayers are with them during this very difficult time”, Montague said.He added that ACP Budhoo, who was assigned to the Operations Portfolio of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, and carried out his role to preserve the peace, protect life and property, and enforce the law he will be deeply missed.He died suddenly today at the May Pen Hospital after falling ill. “The Ministry of National Security wants to once again underscore the important role that our police play in our country. As Jamaicans, we must not forget that the freedom and the sense of security we enjoy are sometimes achieved through our law enforcement officers making enormous sacrifices – often without much regard for self,” Montague further stated.We wish to assure ACP Budhoo’s immediate family of our support as they go through this difficult period of grief and mourning.The ministry wishes them hope in the midst of sorrow and comfort in the midst of pain. We also ask that you take heart in knowing that he lived well in service to this nation.On behalf of the entire law enforcement community the ministry thanks him for his service security to the nation. We will work closely with the family in the days ahead to honour his memory and maintain his legacy.
