Holness to be inducted in Roll of Honour for UWI graduates who became government heads
KINGSTON, Jamaica – An induction ceremony is scheduled at the University of the West Indies, Mona tomorrow to have Prime Minister Andrew Holness inscribed on the Roll of Honour in the Park in honour of UWI graduates who are, or have been, heads of Government.
The park was established at the UWI, Mona Campus in 2005. At that time, the University took the decision to include the names of graduates who had served as Prime Minister of their respective countries up to that time.Holness is the youngest person to have become Prime Minister in Jamaica’s history, and is the ninth prime minister overall. He has been prime minister since March 3, last year, after having won the February 25, general elections.He is a graduate of the UWI where he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies and a Master of Science in Development Studies.There are now some 22 graduates of The UWI who have gone on to become leaders of government.
