Wanted man murdered in St James, cops name person of interest
ST JAMES, Jamaica — One of St James’ most wanted men is now the subject of a murder investigation in the neighbouring parish of Westmoreland.
Dead is 28-year-old Kavian Irving of Dalling Street, Savanna-la-Mar in Westmoreland and Cambridge, St James. Irving, who was wanted by the St James Police in connection with a case of murder, was shot dead in his Westmoreland community on Sunday, April 30.Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that Irving arrived home about 7: 50 pm when he was pounced upon by a gunman who shot him several times. The gunman then escaped. Irving was pronounced dead at hospital.Meanwhile, detectives in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland have listed Dermott Baker as a person of interest in their investigation and are asking him to make contact with them immediately.Anyone with information on his whereabouts are being asked to call the Savanna-la-Mar Criminal Investigations Branch at 955-2758, police 119 emergency number, Crime Stop at 311 or the nearest police station.
