#PennRelays: Five J’can teams through to boys’4x800m final
PHILADELPHIA, United States —Five boys’ teams from Jamaican high schools, led by defending champions St Jago, are through to Saturday’s final of the Championship of Americas 4x800m final at the 123rd Penn Relays at Franklin Field, Philadelphia after this morning’s preliminaries.
St Elizabeth Technical, Calabar High, Jamaica College, Kingston College and St Jago made progress after strong performances.STETHS, former champions here, ran the fastest time this morning 7:43.99 seconds with the team of Shemar Salmon (1:54.40), Denvare Robinson (1:53.55), Jauavney James (1:54.57), Rayon Buttler (2:01.48).Calabar ran 7:44.48 seconds, to edge Jamaica College – 7:44.52 seconds in their heat while Kingston College won their heat in 7:44.85 seconds.St Jago finished second in their heat in 7:48.74 seconds.Spalding High, Bellefield High and Wolmers Boys also took part in the heats.Paul Reid
