#PennRelays: Fast 4x100m Calabar team leads large schools section
PHILADELPHIA, United States — Calabar High threw down the gauntlet in the 4x100m relays here at the 123rd Penn Relays carnival after running the 10th fastest time ever and fastest time in the heats, clocking 39.98 seconds to lead all schools.
The team of Tyreke Wilson, Christopher Taylor, Michael Stephens, Dejour Russell easily beat the 40.29 seconds set by defending champions Kingston College in the large schools section while Jamaica College also dipped under 41.00 seconds with 40.89 seconds to win their section. Wolmers Boys also ran 41.74 seconds but were slower than three Jamaican schools in the Small Schools section- Excelsior, Cornwall College Munro College.The fastest eight times from both the small and large schools sections will run in the Championships of Americas finals on Saturday while the schools will also qualify for the small schools and large schools final.Paul Reid
