Cop shot in January succumbs to injuries
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police Detective Sergeant Dale Thompson, who was shot while on duty on Saturday, January 28, died in hospital this morning.
According to a release from the police, Thompson died from injuries relating to gunshot wounds he received while responding to the murder of a security guard and injury of two others in Fletcher’s Land, Kingston.
Thompson and a team reportedly responded to an incident when they were fired upon and Thompson received gunshot wounds to the head.
Thompson is the fourth police officer to die in the line of duty this year.
