Quallo promises strong presence, even ‘pan di corna’
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Claiming that he wears no veil or Balaclava and therefore has nothing to hide, Commissioner of Police, George Quallo in his installation speech, currently being delivered at the Police Officers’ Club, asserted that he is a firm believer in communicating with people.
The new chief constable also made it clear that he is going to allocate time for the men and women who he leads, to hear their suggestions and lead the internal communication with the police force.“As Commissioner of Police, I wear no veil, no Balaclava, I have nothing to hide, nothing whatsoever.
“I am a firm believer in communicating with the people and that is why you are going to see me: on the ground, in your communities, in your towns, in your villages, ‘pan di corna’, as I strive to build a more fruitful relationship with citizens. “I am going to be with you not only when things go wrong but also to hear of your aspirations and to share your joy. This is a done deal. “Too often those of us in the force forget how important, how critical it is to communicate with each other. “Strong, and robust communication is going to be a trademark of my leadership as Commissioner. I am going to find time to listen to as many of my colleagues as possible. “When, I make time available, I want a working exchange where members share their ideas on how to better manage and get better results from their colleagues,” Quallo said.
