#PennRelays: New national discus record for Knibb
PHILDELPHIA, United States – Kellion Knibb broke Jamaica’s women’s discus throw record for the second time in a week when she retained her title today at the 123rd Penn Relays Carnival.
Knibb threw 62.07 metre to lead a clean sweep of the first four places by Jamaican athletes.
The Florida State University fifth-year senior set the new personal best, and Penn Relays record, which is also the 13th best throw in the world so far this year.
Last week she threw 61.59m at a meet at Stanford, California, which was also a national record.
The University of the West Indies pair of Isheka Binns and Venique Harris were second and third with former Holmwood Technical and National Junior Record holder Gleneve Grange, now of Florida State, taking fourth.
Binns threw 56.05m just beating Harris’ 55.87m with Grange throwing 55.78m.
