#PennRelays: Edwin Allen sets new girls’ 4x100m record
PHILADELPHIA, United States — Edwin Allen High girls set a new Penn Relay 4x100m record of 43.96 seconds, while Holmwood Technical scored a stunning 4x800m victory earlier today at the 123rd Penn Relays Carnival at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
The Edwin Allen foursome of Kasheika Cameron, Kevona Davis, Shellece Clark and Patrice Moody smashed the 44.32 seconds set by Vere Technical in 2004 to win their fourth straight watch and sixth overall.St Jago was second with 44.43 seconds and Hydel High was third in 44.5 seconds.
St Catherine High, who were second last year, placed fourth in 45.26 seconds. Vere Technical won the small schools race in 45.68 seconds, ahead of St Elizabeth Technical — 46.32 seconds, Manchester High — 46.60 second and Herbert Morrison Technical — 46.71 seconds.
St Andrew Technical were second in the large schools final in 47.40 seconds behind Winslow of New Jersey — 47.05 seconds.Holmwood Technical rolled back the clock with a stunning third leg run from hurdler Nicolee Foster to win the 4x800m Championships of Americas final as they turned the anchor leg into a victory lap winning in 8 minutes 48.15 seconds.Edwin Allen were second in 8:55.41 seconds.
