Lubica’s Fever Collection

With a collection as sizzling hot as a typical August day in Jamaica, it’s little wonder that Slovakian-born designer Lubica has named her latest collection “Fever”. All Woman Fashion shares an exclusive peek at a collection that’s a true testament to the name.

Lubica who was was named designer of the year at the Jamaica Observer Style Awards in 2010, told AWF that her latest collection was inspired by the popular song Fever by local artiste Vybz Kartel and features swimsuits, dresses, jumpsuits and cover-ups. Fever is for the woman who is not afraid to celebrate her body and embrace her womanly curves. The pieces feature a blend of natural hues like olive greens, nudes, black and white with complementing metallic details.

According to Lubica: “For Fever, I was feeling confident, happy and sexy. I wanted the clothes to reflect that. What would the Lubica woman wear if she wanted to go out and feel sexy (without overdoing it!). I listened to lots of DVSN and Lana del Ray, The Weeknd, and watched FKA Twigs videos that are always very interesting. (I used three of her songs in my show, actually”.)

One of the standout pieces from the collection is an iridescent silver dress with a cut-out back and clear choker and arm cuff. These pieces are the perfect mix of sophistication and sexy and feature all the things women love, like lace details. The ideal Fever woman knows she is the hottest thing ever and wants everyone to notice her without looking like she’s trying too hard.

Lubica’s designs were recently featured in Ellements Magazine and can be found on her website and at Kerrymanwomanhome lifestyle boutique in Kingston.
