SJCA calls up 24 for Senior League
MONTEGO BAY, St James – Seven members of the Thompson Street team that won the St James Cricket Association’s Heroy Clarke 40-Over competition on Sunday, have been included in the 24-man St James squad selected to start training for the Jamaica Cricket Association’s Senior League that starts in May.
Tyrone Johnson, Andre Ramgeet, Dalton James, Myron Wilson, Christopher Watson, Omar Romans and Samuel Evans Jnr of Thompson Street were called up for the team that will be coached by Chester Sterling.
The squad will train at Jarrett Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays before it is cut to 16 players in time for the start of the islandwide competition.
Three players were selected from beaten finalists Green Pond – Errol Martin, Kristof Samuels and Carique Williams – as well as four from Water Lane – Hodwayne Davis, Andrew Walker, Damion Douglas and Jadane Brown.
The rest of the squad is made up of Renard Clarke, Kevaughn Rowe and Nehroo James of Police; Orlando Christie, Clifton Russell, Igal Scott and Cameron Wedderburn of Cornwall College, Reno Edmondson of Spot Valley High School, Keoni Stevens of St James High School and Keith Ogle of Rosemont.
