LASCO complies with Government’s corned beef ban
KINGSTON, Jamaica — LASCO Distributors says it will be halting the sale of all LASCO corned beef products following a directive from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries issued yesterday to all local distributors of corned beef.
LASCO in a new release last evening said all corned beef products will be removed from store shelves in keeping with the ministry’s temporary and precautionary ban, pending the outcome of further investigations.
The company said it is cooperating fully with the governing bodies by providing information related to their supplies of shipments for an assessment, while simultaneously, their own investigations.
The company added that it supports the Government in its effort to preserve the safety of all Jamaicans and apologise for the inconvenience this process may cause their valued customers and consumers.
