Message from the Principals of the Hydel Group of Schools

As we celebrate the Hydel University College’s UCJ accredited programmes and its ASIC international institutional accreditation, on behalf of the Hydel Group of Schools, we wish to express heartiest congratulations to Founder/ President, Hyacinth Bennett who, unquestionably, is an education leader par excellence.

However, it would be remiss of us to not also congratulate the team that surrounds Founder/ President Hyacinth Bennett. Over the years, the members of her team who are armed with enviable, blue chip credentials and superb track records include: Dr. Burnett Burton, former Principal of The Mico University College, Mr. Jasper Lawrence, former Chief Education Officer, former Deputy Commissioner of Inland Revenue, Mrs. Beverley Reid, Mrs. Yvonne Kong, former Principal of GC Foster College, Mrs. Patricia Cuffe, former Director of the Jamaica Library Service and Dr. Delroy Alleyne, Senior Lecturer at UWI Mona and of course her superb band of lecturers.

Despite the fact that The Hydel University College (THUC) was founded amidst a global financial environment which was at its most turbulent since world war 2, given the Hydel culture which has been marked by an indomitable spirit, a vigorous creative flair and an unmistakable audacity, THUC continues to be propelled into realms of unprecedented excellence, despite the odds.
