Capleton, Spice for Unplugged Series
Capleton and Spice are slated to be guest performers at the inaugural Unplugged Series at Margaritaville in Ocho Rios, St Ann, tonight.
“Having Capleton perform speaks for itself. And, of course, Spice is the hottest current Queen of the Dancehall,” said Kahlil Shirley, marketing director for Borderline Promotions.
Shirley said the aim is to give fans a more personal experience with their favourite artistes than they may be used to at a traditional stage show.
Show time is scheduled for 9:00 pm.
Capleton (real name Clifton Bailey) exploded out of St Mary in the late 1980s with hard-hitting dancehall songs like No Lotion Man and B..bo Red. In the 1990s, his life and music became more spiritual, which can be heard on anthems such as Tour, Wings of The Morning and Jah Jah City.
Spice’s real name is Grace Hamilton. Her hits include Jim Screechie, Fight Ova Man and Slim Versus Fluffy (a collaboration with Pamputae). However, her biggest single to date is Ramping Shop, a 2008 collab with Vybz Kartel.
