UPDATE: Buff Bay main road reopens today

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) says the sections of the Buff Bay main road in Portland, which were closed yesterday, will be reopened to vehicular traffic today. 

The roadway between Orange Bay and Windsor Castle was yesterday closed for work after heavy rains pelted the parish and strong waves caused erosion.

In a release this afternoon, the NWA says though the roadway will be reopened to single lane traffic today, heavy equipment is still working in the vicinity of the collapsed road and people are being asked to exercise extreme caution when using the roadway while the work is in progress.
