Top international acts for 8th staging of BritJam
MONTEGO BAY, St James — The 2017 staging of BritJam is shaping up to be one of the best yet as top international acts Ginuwine and Young M.A., are scheduled to perform at two of the parties during the week-long activities.
The series of events will run from March 8 to 14 at various venues across the resort city of Montego Bay.
The event kicks off with All Black ‘The Official Welcome Party’ at Pier One on Wednesday, with popular selector Tony Matterhorn and Montego Bay’s finest DJ Kentucky and DJ Crazy Neil.
The party then moves to The Palms at the Palmyra Resort with Cook Out on Thursday, March 9.
Local favourites Ding Dong, Tanto Blacks, Kapella Don and fast-rising female artiste Shenseea will perform at that event.
But it’s on the weekend that things are really expected to heat up, as Young M.A., who had one of the biggest hits last year with ‘Ooouuu,’ is billed for the All White party at Tropical Bliss on Saturday, March 11. The All White party also has dancehall artistes Konshens and Bling Dawg on the roster, with Yanique, the curvy diva, as host.
R&B sensation Ginuwine, along with I-Octane and Tifa, make the list for the always -popular Flesh party to be held at The Palms at the Palmyra on Sunday, March 12.
“We at BritJam pride ourselves on delivering a high- quality, value-for-money entertainment experience. We decided to bring in two acts that we believe will increase the level of excitement — Ginuwine, a veteran R&B singer who connects well with his huge female fan base, and a huge talent in Young M.A., who has Jamaican heritage,” said Anneke Taylor, event coordinator, BritJam.
‘Watawar’ Dancehall vs Soca on Friday, March 10 at Dump-Up Beach; on Monday, March 13, the Who’s The Boss Boat Party at Pier One; and Emergency Wear costume party at Margaritaville and the Playboy lingerie party at Blue Beat Ultra Lounge on Tuesday, March 14 round out the week of activities.
