Trump needs to learn fast before he destroys America
Dear Editor,
One Cabinet rule in a parliamentary democracy is that a prime minister is first among equals (primus inter pares) just as the US has been first among great nations for some time now.
President Donald Trump had been preaching that he puts America first — understood to mean from his actions that he does not understand that, while it is accepted that he should put America first, as all citizens should, it cannot be in the best interest of America for him not to factor that nations and people are all interdependent, consistent with obvious natural law starting from anatomy and physiology.
While he was campaigning, he said he knew how to win, and he won. He did not, however, promise that he would not try to alienate America and be guided by the principles of the American Constitution, with special reference to freedom of worship, by executing executive orders against entry to the US by countries where the majority are Muslims, as if Muslims are not our brothers and sisters and worship the same God as all major religions. I also think that mastery of the American Constitution should be a qualification for candidacy to presidency, just like all those who seek citizenship by naturalisation, because clearly Trump has not mastered same.
Having said all the above, Trump is undoubtedly a very great man, but being human is expected to make mistakes and is going to take America to greater heights as he learns on the job. Our only hope is that he learns fast before America is destroyed.
