MESSAGE GIVEN TO BAHIA PRINCIPE RESORT ON THE ON THE CELEBRATION OF ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY- 2017
Anniversaries create the perfect opportunities for reflection, review and, certainly for celebration.
The citizens of St. Ann join me in extending congratulations to the Management and staff of the Bahia Principe Jamaica Resort on this milestone observation.
Undoubtedly, your advent to this beautiful Garden Parish ten years ago has proven to be one of your better judgement calls and indeed one in which the exercise of foresight and dynamism have paid off handsomely. By assessing the rate of your expansion over these years, we can attest that this exciting and far reaching decision to diversify your product offerings in the Caribbean has been rewarded well beyond measure.
I can confirm wholeheartedly, that your investment in these salubrious climes has impacted the parish’s economy positively. Bahia Principe is well respected for employing world class, professional and friendly staff, for establishing valuable linkages with local purveyors and farmers, for supporting the many volunteer and social enterprise projects and outreach programmes of non- governmental organizations, such as the Jamaica Legion’s Poppy Appeal and Annual Armistice Day services, St. Ann Homecoming & Heritage Foundation, the Police Youth Club, and all the parish’s ceremonial activities and observations geared towards the development of patriotism and national pride.
Bahia Principe stands firmly on record as the first local resort to welcome our Head of State, The most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen, Governor General and the Most Honourable, Lady Allen on their inaugural parish tour in 2009.
A grateful parish acknowledges your partnership and hereby confirms that your place is woven firmly in the historical fabric of this parish whose status is generally accepted as the “Home of Jamaica’s Heritage”.
May your goals for continued growth and success multiply and may all your endeavours be blessed richly.
Hon. Norma L. Walters
Custos Rotulorum,
St. Ann.
